Daugaard calls special legislative session

Governor Dennis Daugaard will call a special legislative session as the state plans to move forward to implement a recent Supreme Court ruling that allows states to collect sales tax from online purchases from out of state companies. The Department of Revenue is working with the Attorney General’s office to draft legislation for the special session that is scheduled for September 12^th. Daugaard is hoping to have the new laws in place by October 1^st.
