Two men have been arrested in connection with the killing of a 17-year-old teen in a Rapid City alley Tuesday night. The teen, Emmanuel Hinton of Box Elder, was sitting in a car in an alley behind the 700 block of Blaine Avenue when he was shot, a little before 8 p.m. Hinton later died at the hospital. The suspects are Andre Martinez and Cole Waters, both 19 of Rapid City. Homicide and robbery charges are pending against Martinez and Waters, according to a police release. Waters was taken into custody voluntarily Wednesday morning. Martinez was arrested at his home on the 300 block of Denver Street. Witnesses told police that Hinton was in a car with other people when they came in contact with two men standing in the alley. One of the men, witnesses say, pulled a handgun out and shot Hinton. The driver took off to the hospital while the shooting suspects reportedly left the alley on foot.
