The City of Spearfish is getting set to embark on multiple improvement projects in 2019. One project expected to launch early Spring of 2019 is upsizing the Tinton Tank Water Distribution line. This will allow stored water from the tank to be distributed into the east side water network more efficiently. Another project the city is looking at is revamping one of its busiest roads, Jackson Boulevard. The plan includes going from 4 lanes to 5 with some raised medians and improve lighting. The two phases on the road are expected to be completed between Fall 2019 and early 2020. In addition, Engineering plans to improve the aging and deteriorating sidewalks to City Hall, get the facility’s entrances ADA compliant and improve its Fire Hall. All of the projects are part of a five-year plan.
