A new ordinance about to become a law in Lead will help officials measure how much noise is too much noise. This ordinance allows the noise to be measured by setting specific decibel levels for residential, business, and industrial areas. If a person nearby feels that neighbors or surrounding businesses are being too loud they can call in and an official will go to the area with a noise meter to check the noise levels. The city will offer permits for special events that may exceed the decibel limit.
