Pet store owner facing charges

A Rapid City pet store owner is facing as many as 200 charges after authorities conducted a raid on a soon to be opened store on Mt. Rushmore Road. After an anonymous complaint authorities conducted the raid and found 36 dead animals and 90 others in poor condition. Marinda Parks who previously owned Pitter Patter Pet Store in the Rushmore Mall was planning to open a new store on Mt. Rushmore Road but had not yet requested proper licensing for the new location. The surviving animals are currently under the care of Reptile Gardens and the Humane society.
