The man accused of killing a former Spearfish woman on Monday pleaded guilty to second degree murder. Dalen Ware admits to killing his ex-wife, 37-year-old Julia Jacobson, over the 2017 Labor Day weekend. Jacobson, who grew up in Spearfish and served in the Army, was living in San Diego, Calif. when she was killed. In December, Jacobson and her dog Boogie were found in a shallow grave in Riverside County, along Interstate 10. The 40-year-old Ware will be sentenced in October. He could be sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
