National High School Rodeo Finals-Wednesday recap

At the halfway point of the National High School Finals Rodeo, Wyoming is 5th and South Dakota 9th in the overall team standings. Wyoming sits 7th in the boy’s standings with South Dakota 27th the girls standings have South Dakota 2nd and Wyoming 9th.

In Wednesday action,

Shayla Howell of Belle Fourche earned 2nd and 5th place finishes in Barrel Racing and is 3rd in the average.

Hunter Hayden of Gillette is 6th in the boys cutting average after 5th and 8th place finishes.

Sage Gabriel of Quinn picked up a 6th place finish in Girls Cutting.

Sawyer Gilbert of Buffalo holds the 8th spot in the Breakaway Roping average while TJ Schmidt of Belle Fourche is tied for 10th in Bull Riding.

Elk Point’s Jill Donnelly picked up the win in yesterday’s first Goat Tying performance.

In Pole Bending, Sid Ferguson of Dupree finished 3rd and Samuel Adams of Buffalo picked up a 5th place finish in Steer Wrestling.

In Team Roping, Tanner McInerney of Alzada and Tanner Mills of Gillette recorded a pair of Top 10 finishes to leave them 6th in the average.

Natalie Leisinger of Highmore is 5th overall in the Reined Cow Horse after a 5th place finish Wednesday.
