Plans on new Civic Center Arena moving forward

The Rapid City council legal and finance committee approved a standard business agreement Wednesday between Mayor Steve Allender, the city council and the architecture firm, Perkins and Will, to continue with the design process for a new Civic Center arena. Perkins and Will worked on the Denny Sanford premier center in Sioux Falls and the target center renovations in Minneapolis.  The next step is to sign a contract with the construction manager at risk. The goal is to have the arena completed by 2021.
