Oliver named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week

Tyler Oliver earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference weekly honors, the RMAC announced Monday afternoon. The guard was named the Offensive Player of the Week for his play this weekend as the Yellow Jackets remained unbeaten in RMAC play.

The junior averaged 19.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg, and 4.0 apg over two games. On Saturday’s win over Adams State, Oliver had a double-double before halftime, ending up with 18 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and a steal. In Sunday’s overtime win over Fort Lewis, he scored a game-high 21 points, while also pulling down nine boards, and dishing out two assists. For the weekend, Oliver shot 52.0 percent from the floor, and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc.

On the season, Oliver leads the team in rebounding, with 6.8 boards per game, and also scored 10.7 points per game. He also is tied for the team lead with 2.8 assists per game.

The Green and Gold currently stand tied for first in the RMAC, with a 5-0 league record. The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on January 4, when they travel to Western State Colorado University.
