The latest Sturgis Rally traffic figures from the Department of Transportation show a 3.8 percent increase in traffic compared to 2017. According to data 281,408 vehicles have entered Sturgis through the first 5 days of the rally that’s just over 10,000 more than a year ago. Tuesday was the busiest day thus far with 60,281 entering the city. Through early Wednesday morning, DUI arrests remain lower with 21 fewer than a year ago. The Patrol has issued 67 fewer citations but drug arrests are well ahead of last years pace with 17 more misdemeanor arrests and 16 more felony arrests. The Patrol has responded to 69 accidents compared to 74 during the same period last year.
